How to prepare:

To get the most out of your treatment, arrive well-hydrated and have a light meal or snack beforehand—acupuncture is best received when the body is nourished. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing if possible, and allow yourself time to relax before and after your session. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and intense physical activity immediately before your appointment. Most importantly, come with an open mind and a willingness to tune in—you’re giving your body the space it needs to heal.

What will it feel like?

Acupuncture is a gentle and deeply relaxing experience. You may feel a slight sensation as the ultra-fine needles are inserted, followed by sensations such as warmth, tingling, heaviness, or a gentle pulsing—you may feel nothing at all. Most patients find the treatment calming and often drift into a meditative or restful state during the session. Every body is different, and your experience will be uniquely your own.

Do you accept health insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on your condition, overall health, and wellness goals. While some patients notice changes early on, lasting relief typically develops over a series of consistent treatments. Acupuncture works cumulatively—each session builds on the last—making regular care especially important for chronic or complex conditions. During your initial visit, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan to support your healing journey.

Cosmetic Acupuncture: What to expect

Cosmetic acupuncture offers a natural, holistic approach to facial rejuvenation, working from the inside out to support long-term results. Because this method builds upon the body’s natural healing processes, improvements in tone, texture, and radiance are subtle, cumulative, and lasting.

  • The Initial Series: Most patients begin with a series of 10 to 24 treatments, typically scheduled 1 to 2 times per week.
  • Maintenance: Once desired goals are achieved, monthly maintenance sessions help sustain a radiant glow and support long-term vitality.
  • The Holistic Connection: True facial rejuvenation is a reflection of internal balance. Every session supports a patient's overall well-being, but daily habits play a vital role in the success of the treatments.

Enhancing Your Results

To optimize cellular renewal and maximize the benefits of your treatments, patients are highly encouraged to focus on these foundational pillars of health:

  • Targeted Skincare & Hydration: Maintain a consistent, barrier-supportive home skincare routine and drink plenty of water daily to keep skin plump and hydrated.
  • Stress Reduction: High stress levels trigger cortisol, which can accelerate skin aging. Incorporating daily stress-relief practices supports both inner peace and outer radiance.
  • Nutrient-Rich Diet & Blood Sugar Balance: Nourish your skin from within by eating a whole-foods, nutrient-dense diet. Keeping blood sugar balanced helps prevent glycation, a process that breaks down collagen and elastin.
  • Consistent Exercise: Regular movement boosts circulation, delivering fresh oxygen and essential nutrients directly to skin cells. It also supports the lymphatic system, which is essential for natural detoxification and reducing facial puffiness for a more sculpted, healthy glow.

Microneedling: What to expect

Microneedling creates precise micro-channels in the skin to stimulate natural collagen production and cellular renewal.

  • The Results: A brighter, smoother complexion appears within the first week. While visible recovery takes just 1 to 4 days, deep collagen remodeling continues to improve texture, tone, and firmness for 3 to 6 months.
  • The Series: For optimal results, a series of 6 to 12 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is typically recommended, depending on your goals.
  • Post-Treatment Rules: Expect mild redness or sensitivity for 24 to 72 hours. To support healing, strictly avoid:
    • First 24 Hours: Sweating and makeup.
    • First 48 Hours: Swimming.
    • First 4 Days: Direct sun exposure (strict mineral SPF use is essential).

Additional care instructions will be provided during your booking and at your session.

Safety Precautions & Contraindications

Please review these guidelines prior to booking. This treatment is not appropriate if you are pregnant, have active skin infections/open wounds, a severely compromised skin barrier, or a history of skin cancer in the treatment area.

  • Cold Sores: If you have a history of cold sores, use caution as microneedling can potentially trigger an outbreak.
  • Sun Notice: To minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), strictly avoid direct sun exposure on the face for 5 to 7 days prior to your treatment.

Treatment Preparation Timeline

Follow these steps to protect your skin barrier and ensure a safe, effective treatment:

  • 2 to 4 Weeks Prior: Avoid Botox or dermal fillers in the targeted area.
  • 2 Weeks Prior: Avoid aggressive facial services (chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning).
  • 1 Week Prior: Discontinue all topical active ingredients (retinols, retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, exfoliating acids).
  • 5 to 7 Days Prior: Protect your skin barrier from excessive sun, windburn, or facial irritation.
  • 48 Hours Prior: Discontinue topical Vitamin C and strong antioxidant serums.

On the Day of Your Appointment: Arrive with completely clean skin—free of makeup, heavy creams, or sunscreens. Please review any additional setup instructions in your booking confirmation email.

Nanoneedling Expectations

Nanoneedling is a gentle, non-invasive facial treatment that uses ultra-fine needles to stimulate skin renewal without breaking the skin’s surface. Because there is no puncturing, there is no downtime—making it ideal for frequent treatments, up to three times per week. Most patients notice improved skin texture, hydration, and radiance after just a few sessions. Results build gradually with consistent treatments, helping to smooth fine lines, enhance glow, and support overall skin health.

Precautions: This treatment is not appropriate during pregnancy, for those with active infections, open wounds, a severely compromised skin barrier, or a history of skin cancer on the treatment area. Additionally, if you have a history of cold sores, please use caution as this may trigger an outbreak. Sun Care: Please avoid active sun exposure or windburn on the face for 48 hours prior to your session. We cannot treat skin that is actively sunburned, peeling, or inflamed.
